Karen
Dingerson was born in
New Mexico and raised in San Diego. At a
young age she learned a love for the desert
that was matched only by the intensive beauty
of the ocean and it’s surrounding
landscapes. Exploring these landscapes with
her father, she watched him photograph it’s
treasures and listened with fascination
to his curiosities of it’s beauty.
Karen learned with a little Browning box
camera how to capture the beauty of our
explorations on film and later transfer
them to photographs in the dark room.
As
life would have it, she grew up, moved to
Texas for school and then on to the Midwest
Farmlands to raise a family. Her career
as a Paramedic and three small children
left little time for photography. As opportunity
would have it Karen was able to move to
Arizona where she was again enchanted by
the beauty of the dessert, and then on to
the Pacific Northwest, where she now resides.
Karen simply cannot live here, explore the
tropics and dessert without the camera any
longer! She has a passion for nature….
great and small….but it is sometimes
the most intricate details of the smallest
that are the most dramatic. It is her pleasure
to have the opportunity to photograph again
and share these treasures in the form of
fine art. - Karen Dingerson
